Boutique Wines, Small Batch Bourbons, Single Malt Scotches & Specialty Tequilas

From hard to find wines, highly allocated wines, the smaller production wineries to bourbons and specialty tequilas, The Grape Exchange has something to suit your taste.

In-Home Tastings

You invite the guests, we'll bring the wine (and the stories behind each bottle). You'll enjoy learning about the vineyards, grapes and regions from the comfort of your home as the host of a Grape Exchange tasting event. We can also handle larger venues for corporate events, educational seminars or fund raising events for your local charity. Give your next social event sustenance; invite the Grape Exchange.

“In Home” events are hosted by Michael Grossberg, owner of the Grape Exchange – they are 1½ hours long, feature 10 wines. (12 – 16 guests recommended) and are deigned to be interactive, educational and most importantly fun. Pricing for our events begins at $600 which includes the wine.

Some of our home tastings include:

  • A Piece of the Puzzle Tasting is an exploration into the world of wine. This tasting is designed to teach you how to taste, how to buy wine, and how to pick out the characteristics you like in your wine. By the end of this tasting you are able to pick out the wines you like and describe those qualities like an artist paints a picture.
  • Rags to Riches Tasting is the answer to the question: “I won’t be able to tell one wine from another”. We at the Grape Exchange don’t find this to be the truth. Taste wines from $10 - $50. Can you tell the difference when you don’t know which is which. Does the packaging give you a hint or maybe we taste them completely blind? Learn what really accounts for a better wine and a higher price.
  • Love my Carpet Tasting is for the neurotic ones out there. If you have decided to invite the Grape Exchange to your home and have suddenly lost faith in your guest’s ability to keep the wine in there glass, the Grape Exchange will conduct a tasting of only white wines for your pleasure. Compare Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand to Sancerre, compare Pouilly Fuisse to California Chardonnay, Rieslings and Gewurztraminers. The wines will range from the sweetness of Moscato to the dryness of Pinot Blanc and oh by the way, they won’t stain your carpet.
  • Generations Tasting compares today’s New World wines and Wineries to the Old World Wineries and wine production. How does the French style differ from Australia, how do wines from Italy and Spain compare to South Africa and the United States? What does Old World or New World mean and how does the style impact the wine. Did you know Chianti is Sangiovese or White Burgundy was Chardonnay? We will help open your eyes to the history of the Old World and the passion of the New World.

First off, you have to be 21 years of age to place an order with us and all orders must be signed for by an adult. Second, wine likes even temperatures, so the farther you live from our shipping location (New York State), the faster you will want your wines to arrive at your door. For example, if you live in California, you may not want to select Standard Domestic - what we're trying to say here is that you are responsible for deciding your shipping terms - choose wisely.

W H E R E  W E  C A N  S H I P  T O . . .

Oh, boy, now for the legal mumbo-jumbo on all the states we can and can't ship to. Harsh realities first; we absolutely can not ship to Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee - lest we want a world of hurt.

If you live in any of the following states, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, {breathe}, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming, or the District of Columbia,  your purchase of wine through The Grape Exchange is assumed to have originated in our store and you are authorizing The Grape Exchange to arrange shipping on your behalf. Therefore, you will be charged the current sales tax rate for our retail store. It is your responsibility to know the local laws in your area. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, we apologize, but you're just too damn far.

If you live in California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, West Virginia, or Wisconsin, you're ready to rock 'n roll.
